St Vincent de Paul

St. Vincent de Paul Society (www.svp.org.uk)

The SVP is an international organisation dedicated to tackling poverty and disadvantage by providing practical assistance to those in need, irrespective of a person's age, colour, creed, gender or ideology.
On a parish level the main work of our members is to befriend and assist individuals and families in need on a person-to-person basis through visits to domestic residences, care homes or hospitals.
Internationally we are twinned with three SVP conferences in India, supporting each other through correspondence and mutual prayer. Financial support is also provided in the form of regular contributions to specific projects and a "disaster fund" to help the local Society cope with disasters in their own country.

We meet every Thursday at 7 pm in the church. New members welcome!
